Dim Lucy is a researcher whose interests are in the areas of population and demographic studies, encompassing sexual and reproductive health, migration, gender issues and inequality. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Geography at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and during her master’s degree, focused on Population Geography. She has over five years’ experience in the Logistics and Hospitality industry. Before joining VKM, Lucy had two years of Research Assistantship experience with EFD research group on both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. She supported a project where the EFD team investigated vulnerability of victims in the Kogi flood prone areas. To achieve the objectives of the study, the team conducted a survey, focus group discussions (FGDs) and key informant interviews (KIIs) across the state. The study also documented the damage caused by the flood across all local governments in Kogi State Nigeria.

At VKM, Lucy serves as a program officer and is focused more on qualitative research. She has conducted interviews and FGDs, observed, transcribed and analyzed qualitative data (FGDs and KIIs). Some of the assignments she has executed include conduct and analysis of FGDs to evaluate the Intermediate Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme (I-NFELTP) with cohort one graduates, KIIs on the Neglected Tropical Diseases in Nigeria with major stakeholders, impact evaluation of economic strengthening program for adolescent girls on the A360 project in Kaduna and Ogun States and impact evaluation on a maternal, newborn and child health effectiveness study in Kaduna and Jigawa states. Lucy is a dependable, explorative and a hardworking professional who is resilient enough to work in a multicultural environment
